Wide Spread - a Hardrock Band founded in the early 80s reunited in 2023! This is the project of guitarist Gerald Gradwohl, well known in the Jazzrock/Fusion guitar scene. He released a great melodic track which is the starting point for this interesting melodic Hardrock project. The band was born out of a passion for classic hard rock, with a goal of blending modern sounds with traditional influences. Their distinctive sound is inspired by legendary bands like AC/DC, Van Halen or Deep Purple, but they also incorporate elements of progressive rock and contemporary hard rock. The band quickly gained a loyal following, especially in the Austrian rock scene, known for their powerful guitar riffs, intense drum beats, and passionate vocals. Their song "Take It Away" became one of their most recognized tracks, captivating both fans and critics alike. Wide Spread combines classic hard rock elements with modern influences. Their music is characterized by powerful guitar riffs, catchy choruses, and energetic live performances. While often compared to other hard rock acts, they have successfully carved out their own niche by incorporating elements of blues, metal and even progressive rock into their songs.
the new single „Good Boy“ is a mid tempo Hard Rock track with a lot of punch that sometimes will remind you of AC/DC or Van Halen!

A song right out of the 80s this one - in style AND production! That instantaneous chugging guitar sound, melodic AOR style keys, driving rhythm all topped off by one of those vocals that's impossible to sing along to! You THINK you can do it but, unless you're Dean Castronovo or the like, anyone around you will be wishing they had earplugs! - The whole song oozed style and swagger and I loved the duelling keys and guitars which worked so hard to steal the limelight from the vocals, matching it all the way. Excellent playing, authentic sound and the voice was top drawer and absolutely flawless.
